# Change your foundable’s name and logo

> Rename your foundable, add a tagline or change its logo, to show your business as it is today.

Give your foundable a new name, a tagline or a new logo in **General**, in Settings. The owner, admins and members can change them.

If you’re the owner or an admin, Ted can do this for you: ask him to rename your foundable or make it a new logo. A member can ask him for logo options to pick from.

**1. Open General**

Press your foundable’s name at the top left, then **Settings**. Settings opens on **General**. On a phone, go to **More** › **Switch foundable** › **Settings** › **General**.

**2. Change the name or tagline**

Type a new **Name**. Every foundable needs one. Add a **Tagline** too if you like: one line about your business.

**3. Press Save changes**

A note confirms the save. Once you close Settings, the new name shows at the top left, or under **Switch foundable** in **More** on a phone.

Your email and website addresses stay the same. To change your email address, see [Change your email name or address](/inbox/email-address).

Ted renames your foundable at once. He then says what still carries the old name, like your website’s words or your emails’ sender name, and offers to update them. Telling him your business’s new name renames it too.

## Change the logo

Foundable makes your first logo once your business has a name. To change it, press the logo in **General**:

* **Upload a logo** (or **Upload a new logo**): choose a PNG, JPEG, WebP, HEIC or SVG picture. In **Crop your logo**, drag it and use **Zoom**, then press **Save**.
* **Saved logos**: the logos you chose or uploaded, and the ones Ted made. The one you use now shows **In use**. Pick another, then press **Use this logo**. Your websites switch to it, and nothing else changes. **Load earlier logos** shows older ones.
* **Remove logo**: takes the logo off.

With only one thing to do, pressing the logo does it at once. A note confirms it saved. While your website takes the new logo, the note says your site is updating.

Ask Ted for a new logo, and he makes one and puts it in use. Or ask him for options: he shows them as tiles, so choose one, then press **Use this logo**. It joins your **Saved logos**.

## If something goes wrong

> **“No foundable yet”**
>
> You don’t have a foundable yet, so General has nothing to change. Create one first. See [Start another foundable](/account/foundables#start-another-foundable).

> **“Name is required.”**
>
> Your foundable needs a name. Type one, then press **Save changes**.

> **“That image couldn’t be used as a logo. Try another one.”**
>
> Foundable couldn’t make a logo from that picture. Choose a different one.

> **“That image is too detailed for a logo. Try a simpler one.”**
>
> The picture has too much detail for a logo. Choose a simpler one.

> **“This browser can’t open HEIC photos. Choose a JPEG or PNG, or use Safari.”**
>
> Your browser can’t read this kind of photo. Save it as a JPEG or PNG first, or switch to Safari.

> **“Couldn’t use that SVG. Export it as a PNG and try again.”**
>
> Foundable couldn’t use that SVG file. Save your logo as a PNG, then upload that.

## FAQ

> **Where do I change my own photo?**
>
> Your photo is yours, not the foundable’s, so it’s in **Account**. See [Your account](/account/settings#your-account).

> **Who can change the foundable’s time zone?**
>
> Only the owner, with **Foundable time** in **General**. See [Your local time and Foundable time](/account/settings#your-local-time-and-foundable-time).
