# Will Foundable work for my kind of business?

> Yes for most small businesses: Ted runs the online side of shops, services, local businesses, creators and courses, and the real-world work stays yours.

Ted works the same way for every kind of business. He builds the website, sets up selling, writes your emails and posts, and finds customers. What changes is what your website does. For ideas by kind, see [business ideas](https://foundable.com/ideas).

## What Ted does for each kind

* **Shops.** Products with a cart and checkout through your own [Stripe](https://docs.foundable.com/help/glossary.md#stripe) account. Paid orders wait in Payments for you to [ship](https://docs.foundable.com/payments/ship-orders.md).
* **Services and coaching.** A website that takes bookings and payments. Ted can also work in your Calendly or Google Calendar once you [connect it](https://docs.foundable.com/account/integrations.md).
* **Local businesses.** Your menu, hours and prices online, posts about what’s new, and your Google Business reviews in your Inbox.
* **Creators, courses and newsletters.** A shop for what you make, lessons behind a sign-in, and newsletters to people who signed up. Your website’s emails need an active plan.
* **Tools.** A website with sign-in and its own database, like a booking system or an order tracker. See [Can Ted build a website with sign-in, bookings or a database?](https://docs.foundable.com/questions/website-like-an-app.md)

## What stays yours

* Work in the real world, like making and shipping products or serving customers in person.
* Advice only a professional should give: Ted doesn’t replace a lawyer, doctor or accountant.
* Tax on your sales: Foundable doesn’t calculate or collect it.

## Businesses that can’t use it

The [Acceptable Use Policy](https://foundable.com/acceptable-use) lists the businesses and uses Foundable doesn’t allow. Where Stripe doesn’t take businesses in your country, [use your own payment provider](https://docs.foundable.com/payments/use-your-own-provider.md).
