# Check on or change a task

> Open a scheduled task to see what Ted did each time it ran, and to run it now, change it, pause it or delete it.

Each scheduled task has a card showing what Ted did each time it ran. From it, run the task now, change it, pause it or delete it.

Ted can do this for you: ask him to change, pause, resume or delete a task.

Everyone in your foundable can open a task’s card. The owner or an admin can edit, run, pause and delete tasks. Only the owner can resume a paused task, or see Ted’s steps in a run.

**1. Open the task**

In [Schedule](/schedule/overview), press the task on the calendar, or find it under **All tasks**. Its card opens.

**2. See what it did**

The card shows how the task repeats, its **Instructions** and when it runs next. **Ted’s Last Reply** shows what he said last time.

**Recent Runs** lists the newest runs: press **Show All** for more. If you’re the owner, press a run to see Ted’s steps.

A task that starts when something happens also lists its **Events**. Each says where it stands, like waiting, handled or passed over, and why. It also says how Ted handled it and the credits it used.

**3. Run it now**

Press **Run Now**. The card says the task is starting.

**4. Change it**

Press **Edit**, and the card turns into a sheet. Make your changes, then press the check mark (**Done**) at the top.

**5. Pause it**

Press **Pause Task**. The card marks it as paused, and it stops running until the owner presses **Resume Task**.

**6. Delete it**

Press **Delete Task**. When the card asks if you’re sure, press **Delete Task** again.

## Check that it worked

Your change shows on the card. A run you start shows under **Recent Runs**, and Ted’s reply shows on the card once he answers.

## Emails about your tasks

Foundable emails the owner when a task drafts something to approve, didn’t run or finish, or has an update from Ted. Each email’s button opens what needs you.

If a run didn’t happen, the email says why, and when the next try is. If you ran out of credits, its button is **Add credits**. There’s no email when you press **Run Now** or pause a task yourself.

To stop these emails, turn off **Scheduled tasks** in [Notifications](/account/notifications). **Notification settings**, at the bottom of each email, opens it. Where your email app shows **Unsubscribe**, pressing it turns them off too.

## If something goes wrong

For a run that didn’t happen at its time, see [why a task didn’t run](/schedule/overview#if-something-goes-wrong).

> **“You’re out of credits. See your plan in Settings to run this task.”**
>
> **Run Now** needs credits. When you have more, press it again. See [Get more credits when you run out](/account/out-of-credits).

> **“Paused before it started”**
>
> Someone paused the task while this run waited to start, so Ted skipped it. To start the task again, the owner presses **Resume Task**.

## FAQ

> **Can I skip one time only?**
>
> Not one time on its own. Pause the task, then resume it when you want it back.

> **What does Ted do with an email that starts a task?**
>
> He sorts it first. He passes over spam and automatic mail, and may answer a simple question with a quick reply, which waits for your OK. He works on the rest in the task’s run.
